We know from your last Comments from the Team when and how you came to Origin. How about telling us a little more about what you do and about yourself outside the job?

Let's see... well, since my last comments from the team, my job has changed quite a bit. I currently manage all the in-game support for Ultima Online. As far as outside the "job," I am an avid sports fan and currently play ice hockey. I would consider myself a casual gamer, although Warcraft III sure has taken up a lot of my time.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I truly enjoy dealing with our customer base. I enjoy being able to help resolve people’s problems. And I truly love the ability to work on a game as diverse as Ultima Online.

What was your favorite kind of call to handle as a Game Master? Least favorite?

Favorite: Any call coming from the role playing orc community. I truly enjoyed watching them role play: "Sky God, Sky God!" Least favorite: Hacking and scamming. Dealing with problem players is unfortunately part of the job. Can't we all just get along?!?!

What is the difference between a Senior GM and a Lead GM?

Senior GM's actually perform management duties while attending to the call queue. They handle the escalated calls, approve penalties, and help manage the Game Masters. Currently, we have two lead GMs who manage the call center as a whole. They work on higher level issues.

If I know of an exploit, or witness a player using an exploit, what should I do?

If you know of an exploit, we encourage you to report it to us. You should also mail [email protected] with step-by-step directions on how to reproduce it if possible. We handle reports of players exploiting on a daily basis and deal with them accordingly. I personally have little tolerance for players who exploit to gain an unfair advantage at another player’s expense.

What should I use the [email protected] email address for? Is the mail that is sent there actually read by the GMs?

GMreviews is read by the management team. It should be used to give feedback on the service you received from a GM. It can be used to dispute a ruling a GM makes, or even give praise for good work. Daily, we read each and every one of the claims made and investigate them. We are all human and, from time to time, mistakes are made -- this forum gives the players an opportunity to explain their situation.

There was a GM-run event not too long ago that involved an evil pirate. Was that a one-time event, or are more events like this planned for the future?

We are always looking to run more events. Right now, the GMs are focused on helping out newer players in the game. Although we may run more veteran events in the future, we just can’t set an expectation that these will be run all the time. We have a great events team that puts new content into the game involving the scenarios.

Finally, can I have your robe?

No! If I had a dollar for every time, in the last 3 years, I’ve been asked that, I’d be a rich man!

It has been a pleasure taking this time to give you a little insight into what we do here :)
