These terrifying creatures guard some treasure in a room in the northern part of Dungeon Doom.

At first glance the room looks like a nice and quiet spot in the dangerous dungeon, it even has a few treasure chests for the enterprising rogue. But as soon as the door closes, the lock clicks and two Dark Guardians appear and as if that wasn't enough, poison gas starts filling the room too... The gas doesn't stop and the door won't open until the two guardians are defeated.

Those who are unfortunate enough to enter this room unknowingly will be pleased to find out that if they die and try to walk out of the door as a ghost, they will be teleported to a large statue elsewhere in the dungeon along with their remains.
