The Ki-Rin is a creature of good, much like the Unicorn. It can be tamed and used as a mount, but only by males. It will not let females ride it, but they can command it once it is tame if they get a male to tame it for them. Since the Ki-Rin is a creature of good it will attack anything with negative karma that crosses its way, that includes both players and monsters. While its melee skills are somewhat weak compared to those of a nigtmare, its magic attack is quite fierce and makes it well worth the taming attempts. If the rider of a Ki-Rin gets hurt in battle, the Ki-Rin will at one point call down the forces of nature on the opponent, thereby causing a massive chainlightning spell to do a substantial amount of damage to whatever is attacking the rider. Here's some background info on this creature: A "Ki-Rin" is a winged horse of Japanese folklore that lived in paradise, only appearing in the mortal realm when a "Sesin", or wise man, was born. They embody the four elements (earth, fire, wind, water) and, in some accounts, have the ability to breathe fire. The "Male, Female" hybrid creature you depicted is known as a "Ki-Lin, Ky-Lin, or Qi-Lin" and in Chinese mythology it is a creature that was the most perfect of all land animals, with the head of a dragon bearing a single horn, the mane of a lion, the body of a stag, and the tail of an ox. Ky is the male and Lin is the female, embodying the balance of the Chinese ying-yang. It only appeared when a great Emperor was at power, or to herald the birth of a great person. The Ky-Lin was the symbol of benevolence, good will, and fertility, and it was the elemental corresponding to earth. Although the descriptions of the "Ki-Rin" and "Ki-Lin" are inconsistent, they both seem to perform the same function of herald and elemental spirit. Whether or not they were the same creature, seen from two differing cultural perspectives, is a matter for the scholars to debate.
