We are currently staging a patch for release that will include support for the Ultima Online: Samurai Empire server publish. We intend to release this patch, Today, October 24th, 2004 at 10:40AM PDT (5:40PM GMT)

Changes include:

Both Clients

• Fixed some blocking tile issues (Wall tiles will no longer create invisible barriers on the floor above them)
• Localization updates

If patched correctly, your current version will display 4.0.5b for both clients.

If you have any difficulty receiving this patch, please check the following:

• Check the "Patch" directory within your Ultima Online directory (the default location is C:\Program Files\Ultima Online\Patch). This directory should be empty. Any files in this directory should be deleted. If you are unable to connect to the patch server at all, and are using an original (Non-T2A) version of Ultima Online, you may need to update your verinfo file. For details on updating this file, please see the information posted at http://support.uo.com/tech_6.html.
• Run a virus scan on your computer. Undetected viruses may cause conflicts with patching Ultima Online. For information on up-to-date virus detection software, please visit http://www.mcafee.com/myapps/vso/default.asp.

Known Issues

• The following functions are not available up to server publishing of "Ultima Online Braid Tenchi". (Currently, Asuka Shard only in Japan shards, server publishing of "Ultima Online Brawn Tenchi" is applied.)
• Newly added guild button on paper doll
• EquipLastWeapon macros
• If you participate in the beta test, please do not use beta client. It will cause user name and password errors. Please uninstall beta client at the end of beta test.
• When the patch is successfully applied, when checking the version of the client, 4.0.5b is displayed for both 2D / 3D clients.

If the patch does not work correctly, please try the following method.

• Please check the "Patch" folder in the "Ultima Online" directory (C: Program Files \ Ultima Online \ Patch by default). This folder should be empty. If there is a file here please delete it. The folder name of Ultima Online may vary depending on the version of your client.
• Please remove all resident software such as anti virus software, Internet security software, firewall software etc.
• Please try UO again.

If you can not connect to the patch server and you are using the original version of Ultima Online (the version before The Second Age), install one of the UO clients of T2A or later version, Please reconnect to the patch server.

If the patch did not work properly in the above procedure, please check the following points.

• Please try virus scan on your PC. Potential viruses can harm the Ultima Online patch process.
• "Windows XP" has a firewall function installed. There is a possibility that this firewall function may be causing no patch. This firewall function can be set from the network property menu. For details, please check the manual attached to the OS.
• Operating system files that are not described may cause system file corruption. In this case, it may cause the patch not to be applied, or cause the client not to start up after applying the patch. In this case, please check the notes on reinstallation from here and reinstall.

既知の問題

• 以下の機能は、『ウルティマ オンライン　武刀の天地』のサーバーパブリッシュまでご利用いただけません。（現在、日本シャードではAsukaシャードのみ、『ウルティマ オンライン　武刀の天地』サーバーパブリッシュが適用されております。）
• ペーパードールに新たに追加されているギルドボタン
• EquipLastWeaponのマクロ
• もし、βテストに参加されたなら、βクライアントを使用しないでください。ユーザー名とパスワードのエラーを引き起こす原因となります。βテスト終了時にはβクライアントをアンインストールしてください。
• 正常にパッチが適用されると、クライアントのバージョンを確認したときに、2D/3D両クライアントとも4.0.5bと表示されます。

パッチが正しくあたらない場合は、次の方法をお試しください。

• 「Ultima Online」ディレクトリの「Patch」フォルダ内（初期設定では、C:Program Files\Ultima Online\Patch）をチェックしてください。このフォルダ内は空のはずです。ここにファイルがあった場合は削除してください。なお、Ultima Onlineのフォルダ名はお使いのクライアントのバージョンによって異なる場合があります。
• アンチウィルスソフト・インターネットセキュリティソフト・ファイアウォールソフト等、常駐ソフトをすべてはずしてください。
• UOをもう一度起動してみてください。

パッチサーバーへの接続ができず、オリジナルバージョンのUltima Online（ザ・セカンドエイジの前のバージョン）をご利用の場合は、T2A以降のバージョンのいずれかのUOクライアントをインストールしていただき、そのクライアントでパッチサーバーへ再接続してください。

もし、上記の手順でパッチが正常にあたらなかった場合には、以下の点をチェックしてください。

• ご利用のPCでウィルススキャンをしてみてください。潜在するウィルスがウルティマ オンラインのパッチプロセスに障害を起こす可能性があります。
• 「Windows XP」にはファイアウォール機能が搭載されております。このファイアウォール機能が、パッチがあたらない原因になっている可能性があります。このファイアウォール機能は、ネットワークのプロパティメニューから設定が可能です。詳しくは、OS付属のマニュアルをご確認ください。
• 説明されていないシステムファイルの操作を行うとシステムファイルの破損を招くことがあります。この場合、パッチがあたらない原因となったり、パッチ適用後にクライアントが起動しない原因となったりすることがあります。この場合は、こちらから再インストールの際の注意点をご確認の上再インストールを行ってください。
• また、以前パッチサーバー接続問題の際に「vercfg」の内容を変更されていた場合は、パッチサーバー接続問題記事をご覧いただき、「vercfg」の内容を戻して置くようにお願いいたします。
