Golems were originally spawned by a Power Generator, together with Controllers, in their event of origin. They have since been made regularly spawning monsters, occurring in areas that have Juka or Exodus related spawn, though any spawn of controllers will still typically have golems as well.
Golems can use a special attacked called "Colossal Blow" that will stun their opponent, and make them go out of war mode for a short while (similar to the results of the peacemaking skill). They cannot be paralyzed, but a paralyze field will stop them. Pets will not attack them, nor will controlled summons, unless they are attacked directly, or set to guard the person controlling the pet/summons, and the Golem targets that person. They originally did more damage to pets and summons than to player characters, though that might have gone away with Ag of Shadows. They cannot be poisoned and have a very high resistance to magic.
With a Clockwork Assembly kit, a Power Crystal and some other required items, a tinker can create a Golem by double clicking the clockwork assembly, that will act as his pet. Tinkered Golems can be "healed" by repairing them with tinker tools. Repairing uses up some ingots. There is a 12 second delay between repairs. The more damage is repaired, the more ingots are used up. Regular healing (magic or bandages) has no effect on Golems. Repairing requires a journeyman tinker. Tinkered Golems can be renamed and follow the regular set of Pet Commands. Unlike commanding tamed pets, these Golems do not require their commander to have a minimum taming and/or animal lore skill. Tinkered Golems can be transferred. The strength of the Tinkered Golem depends on the tinker skill of it's creator. When a Golem receives damage in battle, his commander will lose some mana also. When the mana of it's controller reaches zero, the controller will take damage when the Golem takes damage. The link between Controller and Golem can be broken by moving far away from the Golem.

Trivia

Normal Golems can have Common or Uncommon Dawn's Music Box Gears as loot.

Paragon Golems in Ilshenar can have one of the three original Rare Dawn's Music Box Gears, IN ADDITION to the normal chance for a common/uncommon gear. So, it is possible to have TWO Dawn's Music Box Gears on the same corpse, when dealing with a paragon.
