LadyMOI interview with thechosen.com

Jinx: Why has most the dev team been so quiet of late?

LadyMOI: Well, as you know their has been a "changing of the guard" of late. With the new old dev team moving on, its taken alot of work to get the new dev team going. You'll hear more from them in the future Im sure.

Jinx: What is the EXACT order of things to be patched after the current accessibility patch?

LadyMOI: Not exactly sure. There's alot of stuff coming up.

Jinx: Ok, How about some DETAIL?

LadyMOI: Ask Sunsword, he'd be able to help more (note: Curiously I couldn't find him after this interview. Perhaps he was tipped off that I was coming?)

Jinx: How many marriage proposals have you received?

LadyMOI: A few.

Jinx: What is the actual completion percentage on the Hero/Evil system?

LadyMOI: Not sure. Ask Sunsword.

Jinx: Why are player races not being included at all after DD said they would be around by March?

LadyMOI: Player races are a very difficult issue. The amount of time needed for the new art work (which would need a cd, it would be too much to patch), animations and the balance issues was just too much. Its probably not going to happen

Jinx: Got a better answer than that?

LadyMOI: Nope, sorry.

Jinx: Besides the clipart and a few potions, was anything else done to necromancy back when it was briefly on TC/Abyss?

LadyMOI: Its still in the design stages. They pretty much went back to the drawing board on them. There is alot of thinking needed to be done about balance issues. (note: here is where I first wipe drool off my lip)

Jinx: There are a lot of player ideas floating around such as Nobility Titles and such, how much consideration has been given to them?

LadyMOI: Actually Nobility Titles have been given a lot of consideration. Its actually a very popular idea as a solution to veteran players overabundance of cash. The reason its not being worked on is because a money sink is low on the dev team prioity list. Things like reducing server backups and lag take precedence over money sink solutions.

Jinx: Do you guys have a plan you go by or are you just using the Force?

LadyMOI: You know its funny you asked me this. We sort of did use the "Force" recently. When the new skill/stat ratios had been placed on SP, we knew right away something was wrong. We knew the players would hate losing stamin or mana for using certain skills. The Force kind of told us that we needed to revert that stuff out.

Jinx: Why was the new policy instituted for the Korean servers never used on previous new servers?

LadyMOI: They just didn't think of it before the newest servers opened.

Jinx: Can I have a job? I work cheap.

LadyMOI: Errrrr. Um, well, thats not really up to me. Um, next question?

Jinx: Does Richard Garriott role play at work?

LadyMOI: Yes all the time.

Jinx: Is he like his alter ego Lord British in which he only shows up once every 121 days?

LadyMOI: Did you get that from Scorced.com? You know that site hasn't been updated in awhile (note: thats how many days its been since I took a screenshot of the NPC Lord British in his castle so ha!)

Jinx: Does he get annoyed if you forget to address him by title?

LadyMOI: Very, very annoyed.

Jinx: Do you feel DD's shadow in the office hovering over you?

LadyMOI: All the time. His prescence can always be felt. (note: I forgot the rest of what she said)

Jinx: How many people are CURRENTLY working on UOLive?

LadyMOI: (LadyMOI counts by walking her fingers in the air) 10, yea, 10.

Jinx: How many on UO2?

LadyMOI: You mean T2A?(No I mean the Ultima Online Sequel)What's that? I don't know what you are talking about. Never heard of UO2 or whatever.

Jinx: How many on U9?

LadyMOI: Wow. Over 20 at least. Lots of artists.

Jinx: Why do they have SO much more?

LadyMOI: Don't know. They are working on it full time though.

Jinx: How many GMs are on duty?

LadyMOI: Right now? (Whenever, anytime) I don't know, you should ask GM Kal

Jinx: How many are old enough to drink?

LadyMOI: Most I think

Jinx: Old enough to curse?

LadyMOI: *LadyMOI giggles

Jinx: Whats the proportionate number of GM/Counselors to players on a given shard at peak hours?

LadyMOI: You should ask GM Kal. But, I know that a couple of shards are now "Full Time" (You mean GMs/Counselors 24/7? Is there really a GM on 24 hrs a day?) We don't say "24/7", we say "Full Time" (note: well excuseeee me) And yes, there is a GM on duty on :"Full Time" shards.

Jinx: Who here can tell me what player let the ball roll through his legs in the 1986 World Series?

LadyMOI: Uh, you should ask that one to someone else.

Jinx: What abilities/powers/new thingies will the re-re-re-revamped IGM/Seer program have?

LadyMOI: They will be getting some new thingies for sure, but GM Kal would be better to ask (note: GM Kal mumbled maybe 5 words to me when I asked a question then talked to somebody else:)

Jinx: How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?

LadyMOI: You won't believe this, but I did a study on this in a 7th grade statistics class. I measured the length and width of both male and female tongues and then did some other stuff and it came out that it takes 420 licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop. (note: I stuttered out the questions after this one because I couldn't stop thinking about the process she used to measure tongues:)

Jinx: How are seers chosen and what will be done to make sure events and quests are more spread out in the future?

LadyMOI: You would have to ask GM Kal about that, but its very important that we make all players feel more involved in the happenings on their shard

Jinx: How many GMs have been fired for "abusing their powers" in the last 23 months?

LadyMOI: No comment

Jinx: Did Darwin get things thrown at him on the way out of the office by the other GMs?

LadyMOI: No comment

Jinx: Will Tracking ever be improved to help find people over greater distances?

LadyMOI: Not in the immediate future. Its just not that high on the dev team's priority list.

Jinx: Are there any new options being looked at other than stat loss for murderers?

LadyMOI: New options are discussed all the time, but nothing has come of the discussions.

Jinx: If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is there to hear it does it make a sound?

LadyMOI: Does a person clapping with one hand make a sound? (note: I hate when someone answers a question with a question)

Jinx: Will there ever be a way to not only lock skills in place but to keep stats from atrophying?

LadyMOI: Soon. Its a high priority.

Jinx: LadyMOI, do you get hit on at work?

LadyMOI: Yes.

Jinx: Would you ever date a player?

LadyMOI: No.

Jinx: How about me?

LadyMOI: Maybe. (note: ok, so she said no, but I got a kiss and you didn't so there!)

Jinx: Does this fascination scare you?

LadyMOI: No.

Jinx: Does Lum? (He scares me)

LadyMOI: Yes. Very Much. Protect me, please!

Jinx: Do you walk around the office saying "Im popular and you're not, Na-Na-Ni-Poo-Poo"

LadyMOI: No, I strut around the office saying that.

Jinx: Do you always smile?

LadyMOI: Most of the time.

Jinx: Did hanging around the Quake Community scar you for life?

LadyMOI: Without a doubt.

Jinx: Will you sit with me at the Mets game so I can take pictures and make everyone in the UO community jealous? Please?

LadyMOI: Nope, sorry. Gotta sit with the Origin people.

Jinx: If I stop asking questions now, can I get a free T-Shirt?

LadyMOI: hahahah. Maybe you can win one (note: i did win one and she signed it)
