ロード・ブリティッシュ（Lord British）は、暗黒の女帝ミナックス（Lady Minax）の行動を阻止することが重要課題であると考え、それに対する彼の努力は並々ならぬものであった。自分の分身をフェルッカからトランメルの側に投影させ、どこからともなく姿を現して標的を殺害し跡形もなく消え去るというミナックスの持つ技術についての新たな情報を探るという王の命を受け、ロイヤルブリタニアンガードが召集されていた。
ロード・ブリティッシュはロイヤルガード指揮官のエレイン・ベイフェリー（Elaine Bayfery）に、かつて彼が出会った一頭のスフィンクスについて語った。かつてモンデインはその知恵を悪用する為にスフィンクスを呪いにより隷属させていたが、王の手によりスフィンクスはこの呪いより解放されたといういきさつがあった。王はその後も時々その古代からの生き物の様子を見に訪れていた。彼はこのスフィンクスがミナックスの自己オーラ投影技術にも力を与えた宝珠の破片について何か知っているのではないかと考えており、ロイヤルガードを率いて、マラスの「忘れられたピラミッド」にある彼の隠れ家を訪ねるよう指示した。
ロイヤルガードの派遣軍は、何人かの市民の冒険家を伴ってピラミッドへと進んで行った。彼らはスフィンクスを驚かせたり怯えさせたりしないよう、注意深く近づいた。やがて、その生物は彼らの前に姿を現した。
ロイヤルガードの面々は、彼らがロード・ブリティッシュの代理でやって来たことを強調しながら、宝珠の破片についてスフィンクスに尋ねた。しかしスフィンクスは以下のような、謎めいた言葉を返しただけで、神殿の中へと戻って行ってしまった。
そなたの求めしは近きに眠る 古き王らの間に眠る だが、求めし物は棺の中から奪われる 汝は受くる、奪いし者への悪しき呪いを！
一行は、スフィンクスが宝珠の破片の一つはこの近く、ピラミッドの中にあるとをほのめかしたことに気づいた。彼らは神殿の中に入り、ほどなく古代の石棺の中に隠されていた宝珠の破片を発見したのだった。
破片を回収した一行は帰還の準備を始めようとピラミッドから出たその時、一行の周りに多くのgiant scorpionやsand vortexを引き連れた古代の王であったと思われるマミーが現われ、一行を仲間に引き入れようと襲い掛かってきたが、ロイヤルガードと冒険者は勇気を奮い起こし、これをあっという間に撃退した。
一行が宝珠の欠片を携えてブリテインへと帰還すると、エレインは一行の労をねぎらい、ロード・ブリティッシュへ欠片を届ける為その場を後にした。
Lord British thought that preventing the action of the dark Empress Minax (Lady Minax) is an important task, and his efforts on it were extraordinary. Received the king's life to project his alter ego from the Felucca to the side of the trammel, to explore new information about Minax's technology to reveal himself from anywhere, kill the target and disappear without a trace, the Royal Britannian Guards were being convoked.
Lord British told Royal Guard commander Elaine Bayfery about a single sphinx he met. In the past Mondain had slaughtered Sphinx by curse to exploit that wisdom, but there was a statement that the Sphinx was released from this curse by the hands of the King. The king later visited from time to time to see the ancient creatures. He thinks that this Sphinx knows something about the fragments of the treasure that also gave power to Minax's self-aura projection technology, led the Royal guard, and is in Maras 'Forgotten pyramid' I told him to visit his hideout.
The Royal Guard dispatched army went along to the pyramid with some civic adventurers. They approached carefully not to surprise or frighten Sphinx. Eventually the creatures appeared before them.
The royal guard's members asked Sphinx about the fragments of the gems, emphasizing what they came on behalf of Lord British. But Sphinx just went back into the temple simply by returning a mysterious word like the following.
Your request will sleep closer Sleeps among the old kings But the thing you ask for is robbed from inside the coffin Thou shalt receive a bad curse to those who rob you!
The party noticed that Sphinx implied that one of the fragments of the gem was near here, inside the pyramid. They entered the temple and soon discovered the fragments of the treasure hidden in the ancient sarcophagus.
A group who recovered the debris came out of the pyramid to prepare for the return, then Mommy appeared to be an ancient king who gathered many giant scorpion and sand vortex around the line, bringing the party to a group Royal guards and adventurers inspired courage and fight back this quickly.
When the party returned to Britain with a piece of treasure, Elaine took a line of work and left the spot to deliver the piece to Lord British.
