『The Shattering』
我は永きに渡り、不滅の宝珠の破片に関することを考え続けてきた。 我が人生の大半をこの不思議な芸術品に費やすことによって、ようやくこの宝珠にまつわる真実を覆い隠していたベールを剥がすことができそうだ。
2つのことが明らかになった。 我はまもなくこの地を去らねばならないが、我が発見を記したこの本を見つけることができたまだ見ぬ後継者に、この2つのことについての研究と調査、そして希望を託すことにする。
まず、我はその昔モンデインを打ち破った“異邦人”こそが、宝珠を破壊することができたという証拠を手にした。その異邦人は、我々の内なる世界から現れた者ではなく、我々がこの世界に繋ぎとめられている法則の糸に絡められることのない者であった。これにより、宝珠を破壊できた者と、抽象的に現実を描く宝珠自身とは、それぞれが互いにこの世界に作用することを可能にしたのだ。
異なる次元が我々の世界に影響を及ぼす可能性があるといえば、かつて恐ろしい計画を企てた者たちがいたことを思い出す。我は、いまここにそのことを記録せんとしている。 かつて、全ての命を絶やすべく恐ろしい魔法をかけようとした者がいたが、感謝すべきことに、その者と信奉者たちの試みは失敗に終わった。しかし、その魔法は我々の世界のものとは異なる摂理に基づいていたように思えてならない。
