2004-03-03: 解毒薬の探求
毒というものは慎重に扱わなければならない代物である。また、ある治療法が常に効果をあげるとも限らない。例えば先頃、ロイヤルガードの指揮官であるエレイン・ベイフェリー（Elaine Bayfery）がミナックス（Minax the Dark Mistress）の伏兵との戦いの最中に毒の呪いを受け倒れた。宮廷魔道師であるクレイニン（Clainin）がその治療法を探るべく任命されている。
クレイニンの研究によると、数種の秘薬と一般家庭にあるような軟膏を混ぜ合わせたものが効くはずであるが、今回はそれも効果がなかったようだ。そして彼の更なる研究の結果、ある秘薬の亜種がより効果的であるという仮定に至った。
クレイニンは、冒険者たちに協力を要請し、必要な秘薬が採取できるとおぼしきダンジョン・シェイムの深部へと潜った。ダンジョンへのゲートトラベルを抜けるや否や、協力に駆けつけた冒険者たちは周辺のモンスターたちを次々に倒し、東と西に建つイビルメイジたちのタワーへの道を切り開いた。そして必要な秘薬を得たクレイニンにより開かれたゲートトラベルの魔法を通じ、最後には全員が無事にダンジョンを後にしたようである。
現在クレイニンは、彼の研究室でその毒の特効薬の調合を行っている。彼によれば、これはまだ解毒薬を得るためのほんの第一段階にすぎないとのことである。
