This is a super slayer item property. The official name group the group of mobs that it effects is the "Abyss" group, but "Demon Slayer" is what is displayed on weapons.
The current "Demon Slayer" property was originally called "Exorcism." It was one of the first six types of slayers added to the game. Items with this property originally only spawned on Elemental group mobs and Juka Lords. Today they can drop from any mob.
The original "Exorcism" super slayer type had three subtypes:
- Gargoyle’s Foe
- Lesser slayer for regular and stone gargoyles.
- Daemon Dismissal
- Lesser slayer for all "Daemon"-type creatures.
- Balron Damnation
- Lesser slayer for Balrons.
With the release of Age Of Shadows in 2003, nearly everything named "Daemon" had the spelling corrected to "Demon". The "Exorcism" super slayer type was renamed to the "Demon Slayer"super slayer type. The "Daemon" lesser slayer type was was removed; "Daemon Dismissal" items now displayed as "Daemon Slayer" and functioned as super slayers equivalent to "Demon Slayer" super slayers. The "Balron Damnation" and "Daemon Slayer" slayer types both stopped spawning.
All of the above changes did mean that it was possible to have a double-slayer Juka bow with both "Daemon Slayer" and "Demon Slayer" that was a Super super slayer (4x damage). However, today the cap for slayer damage is 300% (3x).
The Abyss slayer group has two opposing slayer types; the Elemental slayer type and the Fey slayer type.
